The Warrior's Path Lesson 8: Useless Arguments and Hidden Remnants
Lesson 7: Useless Arguments and Hidden Remnants
After the Tower of Babel God gives mankind over to their sinful desires and allows rebellious watchers to rule over them. Here we see partly why the spiritual world is tied to land and souls as discussed in previous lessons as we see that the rule of these beings is given over the nations.
A Psalm of Asaph.
God has taken his place in the divine council;
in the midst of the gods he holds judgment:
“How long will you judge unjustly
and show partiality to the wicked? Selah
Give justice to the weak and the fatherless;
maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.
Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
They have neither knowledge nor understanding,
they walk about in darkness;
all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
I said, “You are gods,
sons of the Most High, all of you;
Tools
nevertheless, like men you shall die,
and fall like any prince.”[fn]
Arise, O God, judge the earth;
for you shall inherit all the nations!
Psalms 82
As seen here in Psalms, would be gods of mankind rule unjustly to no one’s great surprise, and God promises retribution. That they would die like the men they have suppressed and enslaved. God is not done with mankind, and in a pattern we will find similar throughout the rest of the Bible The Almighty always saves a remnant. Just like with Noah God will cut out a piece of fallen humanity for himself as his portion that will eventually be used to save the entirety of the nations.
Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry
in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus save some of them.
For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead?
If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root[fn] of the olive tree,
Tools
do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you.
Romans 11:13-18
The analogy is pretty clear here. The intention was always to bring all of humanity back into the Kingdom of Heaven. What the point of the Cross and the Resurrection was all about. Reclaiming the discarded nations ruled by freaks and their corrupt divine sugar daddies and graft them back into God’s inheritance. But much like the Isrealites would have to choose to follow God out of their rebellious ways so would all of humanity have to choose to follow their true creator again.
That was a long term plan in the making. The Almighty had to set history into motion to allow for the proper circumstances for the coming cosmic slap against his enemies at the Cross. Just like how Revelations shows how things must be aligned for these great events, so too did God have a long road to prepare the world for the coming of his son and salvation. To start with his plan involved creating a nation that would be his portion on Earth to use as a stepping stool to the cross and redeeming the disowned nations of man.
So who did God pick to create this new nation of people? A stud with twelve kids under his belt and ample room for creating that nation quickly? After all, nations need people. A nation is only one in name if there are no sons of their fathers to speak of. That wasn’t who God picked however. He picked a seventy year old man with a barren wife.
Now the LORD said[fn] to Abram, “Go from your country[fn] and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.
And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”[fn]
So Abram went, as the LORD had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.
And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people that they had acquired in Haran, and they set out to go to the land of Canaan. When they came to the land of Canaan,
Abram passed through the land to the place at Shechem, to the oak[fn] of Moreh. At that time the Canaanites were in the land.
Then the LORD appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built there an altar to the LORD, who had appeared to him.
Genesis 12:1-7
I had to imagine that if the rebellious sons of God had been watching they’d been laughing hysterically at the choice. Indeed, if we look at Abraham’s life we come to a conclusion that the Devil and his cronies largely left him alone. Content to burn the world around him with corruption and madness only occasionally receiving a slap from Heaven like at Sodom and Gomorrah. This is a distinct difference between the descendants of Abraham who will be under constant assault by the principalities of Darkness and their twisted children. Perhaps that was the point.
When the Isrealites are realized as a nation the first thing that happens is the Egyptians, the powerhouse of the world at the time and thus the seat of power for the fallen freaks, as if suddenly this Abraham and his line wasn’t so funny anymore. Now they were a potential threat.
God may have been using someone his enemies didn’t view as a danger to have time to build up the Isrealites before confronting the fallen ones with them. We see similar practical behavior out of the Almighty after he frees his people from their captivity in Egypt.
When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near. For God said, “Lest the people change their minds when they see war and return to Egypt.”
But God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. And the people of Israel went up out of the land of Egypt equipped for battle.
Exodus 13:17-18
That said, we shouldn’t ignore the fact God sees what we don’t as seen when he chose David as King of Israel.
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”
1 Samuel 16:7
God’s choices have practical reasons which are beyond our understanding. We are small in the universe, our perspective is limited like blind men describing an elephant. But he is also sovereign, and has admitted to acting in ways that require more miracles to glorify his name as seen in Gideon's story.
Then Jerubbaal (that is, Gideon) and all the people who were with him rose early and encamped beside the spring of Harod. And the camp of Midian was north of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.
The LORD said to Gideon, “The people with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel boast over me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’
Now therefore proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and trembling, let him return home and hurry away from Mount Gilead.’” Then 22,000 of the people returned, and 10,000 remained.
Judges 7:1-3
The point I want to hammer home is two fold. First, God is practical in his fight with his enemy. He isn’t jumping through hoops and burning corpses for nothing even when actively making things more difficult to prove his power and sovereignty. And second, we can’t know what these purposes always are. They may be completely spiritual in nature or as practical as hiding the true nature of the coming of Jesus Christ from his enemies so they fall for his trap at the cross. We can’t know. So don’t get caught up in too many details.
The important part of Abraham’s story is that God isn’t done with humanity, and will have his prophecy fulfilled. A son of man will crush the serpent's head one day. And God can use any tool to accomplish his goals if that vessel is willing and has faith. Like David you might even find you are more suited to the task the Almighty has given you than everyone expected. Don’t allow theories and wonderfully clever ideas about theology get in the way of God’s word speaking to you and others.
Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.
2 Timothy 2:23
The Body of Christ would do well to listen to Paul for once in its existence. We are far more obsessed at smashing each other while actual cannibalistic satanists run our nations and denominations, whether protestant, Catholic or even Coptic. Don’t get distracted. Don't waste energy on fights that we can’t know the answer to anyway. Let God use you and have faith like Abraham and maybe we can get back to fighting all those freaks who want to kill and enslave our Children please.
Abraham has now been chosen and whether or not God’s purpose was to show how powerful he is or to hide his remnant from his enemies is beside the point. The Almighty is brewing a plan to regain the nations and eventually all of creation. He has the long haul in mind, and for now more of a cold war going on with his rebellious sons. Retribution is coming, and God has all the time in the world to bring his cosmic justice down on freaks squating in his holy places and creation. The next time the war goes hot the Fallen Watchers and the Devil are in for a rude surprise.
Question 1: Has God ever done something or called you to a task that didn’t make sense to you? Did that episode ever make sense looking back on it or has it remained a mystery to you?
Question 2: Have you ever been around a group of Christians who allow a dispute to distract them from God’s will or his voice? How did you react to the situation?
